Targeted Support

Targeted support for organizations adapting to physical distancing measures

Sandbox Impact Program

In this time of unprecedented change and uncertainty, our continued ability to work together is crucial. At the same time, the need for social/physical distancing has created unexpected obstacles in many organizations’ ability to collaborate in the usual ways. The Sandbox Impact Program is recognizing and supporting Canadian organizations who are quickly adapting their activities to help children and youth during the COVID-19 crisis.

Following our recent Call for Applications, we heard from hundreds of organizations requesting support to cover direct expenses to address the immediate needs created by social/physical distancing measures. With the generous support of our funding partners, we sent microgrants to 46 innovative child and youth organizations who are leading the way, from coast to coast to coast. And we are actively working to do more.

Working together, we have an opportunity to provide immediate, targeted support to kids, youth and their families in communities across Canada.

How you can help

If you’re in a position to help, check with child- and youth-serving organizations in your area to see what they need most. A modest financial or in-kind contribution can create a major impact at this time. The most requested items are:

1. Technology
Pivoting in-person programs and services to virtual settings

2. School and craft supplies
Supporting online schoolwork
Delivering activities to vulnerable families to build community and reduce isolation

3. Groceries
Replacing meals normally provided by school and childcare programs

Alternatively, you can help us approve more Sandbox Impact Program microgrant applications by donating to our dedicated fund. 100% of donations will provide targeted support for child- and youth-serving organizations in Canada who are adapting to physical distancing measures.
