The Sandbox Impact Program is bringing organizations together, uncovering and leveraging existing capacity, and taking our shared priorities to the next level.

Building on the success of The Sandbox Project’s innovative working model, The Sandbox Impact Program supports initiatives that leverage multiple partners to address specific health and well-being challenges faced by children and youth in Canada.

The far-reaching impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have sparked a national conversation about Canada’s path forward for children and youth. The 2021-2022 Sandbox Impact Program is focused on mobilizing new collaborations and building momentum for change across child and youth health and wellbeing sectors. Specifically, the 2021-2022 collaborations will prioritize children and youth who are most impacted by the pandemic, including: First Nations, Métis and Inuit children; Black and other children of colour; children growing up in poverty, those with complex medical needs and disabilities, and children who experience abuse in their homes.

The 2021-2022 Sandbox Impact Program is focused on four areas:

1)    Mental health and wellbeing

2)    The social determinants of health and vulnerable populations

3)    Improving access to services and programs for parents and children

4)    Filling data gaps

If your focus is on youth mental health, please also visit the Zeynab Asadi Lari Memorial Project page to learn about an additional opportunity for support.
